Rodrigo’s fans, who have long cited Taylor Swift as a musical inspiration, were quick to point out that the “Folklore” singer did something similar at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Swift, like Rodrigo, misplaced one of her awards while posing for photos during the presentation, when she picked her first of three Album of the Year trophies.
Rodrigo joins a long list of celebrities who have mismanaged their Grammy awards, including Adele, who memorably smashed her award in half onstage at the 2017 ceremony.
