American actress and singer Anne Hathaway. She goes by Anne Jacqueline Hathaway in full. On November 12, 1982, she was born in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Her mother Kate (née McCauley) is a former actress, and her father Gerald is a labour lawyer. She is the second of three children, and she has two brothers: Thomas, who is younger, and Michael, who is older. Hathaway has English, German, and French ancestry, although she is primarily of Irish heritage.
Despite her early popularity, Hathaway battled anxiety and depression as a kid, but she claims she has now recovered.
