Ivana Marie “Ivanka” Trump is an American businesswoman and the first child of the late President Donald Trump. She served as the director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship and was a key counsellor in his administration. She converted to Judaism before marrying her husband, Jared Kushner, and is the daughter of Trump’s first wife, Ivana. She is the first Jewish member of a first family.
She served as the Trump Organization’s executive vice president, which is a family business. She served as a boardroom judge on The Apprentice, the TV programme hosted by her father. Trump transitioned out of the Trump Organization in March 2017 to work with Jared Kushner as a senior adviser in her father’s presidential administration.
She was given access to sensitive information while not being subject to the same constraints as a federal employee, which prompted ethical questions. As a result, Trump voluntarily agreed to submit the “financial disclosure forms required of federal employees and be bound by the same ethics laws.” She carried on running her clothing brand company up to July 2018 while serving in the White House, which brought up additional ethical issues, notably conflicts of interest. Even before officially joining the president’s administration, Trump was regarded as a member of his inner circle.
Ivanka Trump was born in Manhattan on October 30, 1981, and she grew up in the spotlight with her well-known parents, businessman Donald Trump and socialite/model Ivana Trump. Ivanka’s parents divorced when she was 10 years old, and she later enrolled in a boarding school. She first attended the Chapin School before transferring to Connecticut’s Choate Rosemary Hall.
Ivanka chose to try her hand at modelling at the age of 14 despite being unhappy at Choate and telling her parents that she would maintain her grades. She quickly joined Elite Model Management, and in 1997 she appeared on the cover of Seventeen magazine. She would appear in Elle magazine, walk the runways for Thierry Mugler, Versace, and Marc Bouwer, and co-host the Miss Teen USA pageant.
