Dakota Johnson Had No Shame in showing of her body

Fifty Shades Darker is finally in theatres, so fans can enjoy a plethora of new s-x scenes starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan. Whether you hurried to the theatre on opening day or have a hot Valentine’s Day date planned to check it out, the movie is here in theatres. And despite the fact that she may have utilised a butt double for Fifty Shades of Grey, Dakota Johnson told the Mirror that this time, everyone is seeing her real n=ked body.

When questioned if she “Johnson responded, “No, since it would have felt like a cop-out if I had ever wanted to utilise a body double for n=ked sequences. If I was going to undertake this job, I was going to give it my all—100 percent. I wanted to play the part and the character honestly and true to myself. Nudity is not a concern for me. I was fine with that because I find it to be lovely.”

What about the first movie, then? To be fair, she didn’t utilise a butt double in Grey because she was “copping out” or felt uncomfortable showing off her n=ked body in front of the camera. She has a tattoo there that doesn’t go with Ana’s innocent persona, which was the problem. (However, I’m confused as to why they didn’t simply conceal it with body makeup. It’s possible that the design makes it appear strange up close.)

In any case, Johnson attributes her relaxed attitude about being photographed without clothing to the way she was raised. She tells the Mirror, “I was raised to respect myself and to be at ease and confident. “I’ve always respected that in other women, and I’ve always been drawn to those who don’t give a damn what other people think. Additionally, I grew up in a setting where being interesting is valued more highly than being attractive.”

Yes! I love that she was raised with such beautiful body-positive messages from her parents Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, and perhaps also from her grandmother Tippi Hedren. She portrays Anastasia in a way that is undoubtedly informed by her healthy self-esteem and ease in her own skin, which only adds to the allure of the character.
