A lecturer went to give a speech about Mother’s Day

He started with the words:

“The best days of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who is not my wife.” The room was silent. He continued, “That woman was my mother.”

A man in the audience was inspired by this quote and happened to be making an address of his own later that day. So he went up, and declared:

“The best days of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who isn’t my wife.” The room was dead silent. The man stood there awkwardly, having forgotten the ending part of the line. So he finished with, “And I don’t even remember who she was.”
