At the age of 73, Olivia Newton-John passed away.
After a protracted battle with cancer, the “Grease” icon passed away at her ranch in Southern California on Monday morning, surrounded by friends and family.
Olivia shared her struggle with breast cancer for more than 30 years, serving as a symbol of victories and hope in the process, according to a statement posted on her official Facebook page. The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is focused on studying plant medicine and cancer, carries on her pioneering work in plant medicine and healing inspiration.
The Post has contacted Newton-representative John’s for additional information.
The “Physical” singer is survived by her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 36, and her husband of 14 years, John Easterling.
At the age of 43, Newton-John had her initial breast cancer diagnosis back in 1992.
Prior to disclosing in 2017 that the disease had spread to her lower back, she learned that it had resurfaced in 2013. After the cancer spread to her bones, doctors gave her a stage 4 diagnosis and said she had a slim chance of surviving.
The vivacious Australian became a vocal supporter of marijuana use in treating cancer despite suffering from terrible pain.
Even though Newton-John had a protracted fight with illness, the news of her departure still shocked the entertainment industry and sparked an outpouring of sympathy from her famous colleagues.
